A former Cherokee County government employee has been arrested and charged with stealing more than a quarter million dollars while on the job over several years.
Lynn Page, 55, from Talking Rock, is charged with a felony count of theft by taking while in a fiduciary capacity. According to the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office, she turned herself in on Saturday and was booked into the Cherokee County jail. She was released the same day on a $4,875 bond.
In her arrest warrant filed by the sheriff’s office, authorities charge Page with taking money collected from the county’s Development Service Center while employed as an accounts receivable coordinator.
