A Marietta man is in custody on charges of vehicular homicide and hit-and-run, police say, after he allegedly fatally struck a pedestrian along South Cobb Drive and drove away.
Jafet Misael Mendez Cruz, 28, is accused of striking the pedestrian Jan. 17 at 9:30 p.m. at the TitleMax Title Pawns, located at 3247 South Cobb Drive in Smyrna, according to an arrest warrant from the Smyrna Police Department.
Police say Cruz was driving a gray 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche northbound on South Cobb Drive just north of Concord Road when his front bumper collided with the victim, identified as Rickey Woolf in the warrant, causing fatal injuries…
