A winter storm brought freezing rain and ice to North Georgia over the weekend, with areas like Gainesville getting an inch of ice accumulation.
The streets and trees of the Atlanta metro area had a thin coating of ice as well, and while some of it melted Sunday afternoon, other parts are stuck in a refreeze cycle as frigid temperatures continue to grip the region.
