A former leader of DeKalb County School District (DCSD) currently embroiled in a federal case over charges of fraud found himself in jail due to a domestic dispute.
Devon Horton, superintendent of DCSD from 2023 to 2025 (when he resigned due to being federally indicted in a case related to his former tenure as the leader of Evanston/Skokie School District 65 in Illinois), was booked into the DeKalb County Jail on Jan. 17 on charges that include aggravated assault by strangulation and cruelty to children in the third degree.
In video footage of a court hearing on Jan. 19 published by WSB-TV, Horton can be seen shackled in an orange jumpsuit with his lawyer present. Virtually, Horton’s wife, who was supposedly the victim of the crime, and a judge can be seen as well…
