Human trafficking operation operating out of Atlantic Station allegedly tied to Atlanta jail

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A human trafficking operation based in Atlantic Station was allegedly run from inside the Fulton County Jail for nearly a year, according to a warrant obtained by Atlanta News First on Thursday.

The warrant detailed what investigators say was an operation run by an inmate who continued to manage the scheme from prison.

Aziz Balamani is accused of assisting victims by managing online content, advising on financial control and facilitating sexual exploitation as part of a larger human trafficking operation led by Jamel D. Ellis, who has been incarcerated at Fulton County Jail since Dec. 23, 2024.

The alleged activities took place between Dec. 23, 2024, and Dec. 22, 2025, at Atlantic Station. Investigators say Balamani continued to coordinate aspects of the operation while Ellis was jailed…
