Authorities say a police officer has been killed and another seriously wounded in a shootout at a suburban Atlanta hotel. Gwinnett County Police Chief J.D. McClure said the officers were questioning a man Sunday in a room at a hotel near Stone Mountain when the man shot them with a gun. McClure says one officer returned fire, wounding the suspect. The chief says 25-year-old officer Pradeep Tamang was killed, and officer David Reed was hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
