CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — A man who prosecutors said admitted to slapping his child in the face and causing a traumatic brain injury will spend more than a decade in prison.
Anthony Eugene Manzi was sentenced to 20 years, with the first 15 years to serve. The remainder of the time will be on probation. Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit District Attorney Susan Treadaway said the 39-year-old pleaded guilty on Feb. 5 to three counts of cruelty to children.
“Manzi admitted to inflicting a traumatic brain injury on his infant son, slapping the child in the face, and failing to promptly seek medical care.
