A Fairburn man who allegedly took another man to a Gwinnett County park to be robbed last spring, and then recorded a colleague beating the victim until he was unconscious, was recently arrested by Gwinnett deputies, the Sheriff’s Office announced this week.
Matthew Johnson faces aggravated battery and robbery by force charges for his role in the beating and robbery on April 27, 2025. Arrest warrants say the victim arranged to have Johnson pick him up from his home and take him to Bethesda Park last spring.
After they arrived at the park, Eric Strickland allegedly beat the victim repeatedly in the face while Johnson recorded it on video. The victim was knocked unconscious during the beat and suffered shattered facial bones…
