Woodstock police officer recognized for narcotics arrest

The Woodstock Police Department is recognizing one of its officers for actions credited with taking deadly amounts of illegal drugs off the streets.

Cpl. Joshua Buckner was honored with a commendation last week by Woodstock Police Chief Roland Castro.

According to Woodstock Police, while Buckner was on patrol he found a stranded motorist and stopped to help. After the driver gave him permission to enter the car to help move it, Buckner smelled marijuana and saw the passengers had tattoos consistent with the gang Los Suernos.
