Home Depot employees return to office at Cobb headquarters after layoffs

CUMBERLAND — In the wake of issuing hundreds of employee layoffs and a return-to-office initiative, The Home Depot said the company is still on track to create an additional 250 jobs in Cobb County as part of an expansion of its headquarters in Vinings.

In an update to the Development Authority of Cobb County — which issued the bonds to finance the expansion project — Jim McCarthy, Home Depot’s senior director of real estate, spoke about the company’s hiring process in the midst of the layoffs.
