Forsyth County: Renovated schoolhouse to serve Matt voters

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A newly renovated historic school will serve one of Forsyth County’s smallest communities as population growth continues across the county, including its most rural northern areas.

At its March 5 meeting, the Forsyth County Commission unanimously approved creation of a 30th voting precinct and polling location anchored by the Matt Schoolhouse Community Building. The schoolhouse is expected to serve as a polling location in the 2026 voting cycle.

The new voting precinct will pull voters from the Otwell and Matt precincts, bringing its total to about 4,600 voters. The former Matt Precinct will be renamed Hightower…
