Suspect in Gwinnett County jury duty scam arrested

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A man accused of impersonating a law enforcement officer to scam a Gwinnett County resident was arrested last week, the sheriff’s office said Friday.

The victim recently contacted deputies, saying a person identifying himself as “Officer Shepherd” called him about a jury duty issue.

The caller reportedly told the victim to pay $1,350 or turn himself in to the sheriff’s office. The victim sent the money to the phone number provided by the caller…
