A missing teenager’s story has taken a positive turn after she was found safe more than a year after her disappearance. The case of Asata Amun had worried many people, especially after her mother made an emotional appeal on television asking for help in finding her.

Authorities in Gwinnett County confirmed that Asata Amun has been located and is safe. Police shared that she had been living under a different name and was in the care of the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services since February 2024.
