Despite being picked to run Georgia’s largest school system, incoming Gwinnett County Public Schools Superintendent Alexandra Estrella will make less money than the superintendents for four of the state’s other five largest school systems.
Estrella will even make less money than her predecessor in Gwinnett earned.
A copy of GCPS’ two-year contract with Estrella, which was obtained through a freedom of information request, shows she will be paid a base salary of $400,000 a year. That would make her the fifth highest paid of the superintendents for Georgia’s “Big Six,” which are the largest districts in the state and are all in metro Atlanta…
