A Georgia inmate who wants to die by a firing squad instead of lethal injection learned his request was denied again by a federal court.
Michael Wade Nance shot and killed 43-year-old Gagor Balogh in 2002 in Gwinnett County. Nance was trying to get away after robbing Tucker Federal Savings and Loan in Lilburn. He is currently on death row in Butts County.
Nance sued Georgia’s prison system claiming lethal injection would cause him excruciating pain because of his medical history. The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of prison officials, stating Nance couldn’t challenge since Georgia state law only allows lethal ejection executions…
