MARIETTA — During the public comment part of the Marietta school board’s meeting this week, parents objected to phasing out Park Street Elementary School’s dual language immersion program (DLI).
Superintendent Grant Rivera announced earlier this month that Park Street’s program, which allows enrolled students to learn all subjects in both English and Spanish, will no longer enroll new kindergarteners beginning next year. Park Street will allow current students enrolled in DLI classes to continue their program studies until they are finished at Park Street.
