CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — A heavy law enforcement presence lined a quiet stretch of Land Road in Cherokee County’s Clayton Community on Thursday evening after deputies discovered a body inside a barn on a rural property.
Deputies were called just after 4 p.m. to the 2800 block of Land Road, which is just north of Canton.
The narrow two-lane road was reduced to one lane for several hours as investigators moved in and out of the property gathering evidence.
Multiple deputies and investigators remained on scene for nearly five hours before clearing the area around 9 p.m.
