Burnt Rubber, Big Engines, and Bragging Rights Are on the Line at Amarillo Dragway This Weekend

While many people have said there is nothing to do in Amarillo, there are plenty of things happening around Amarillo. If you are looking for an evening of excitement, engines roaring, and fumes filling the air, then you need to make plans to visit the Amarillo Dragway.

What Is Drag Racing?

The Amarillo Dragway is open for the season, and they are bringing the thunder this weekend. Don’t miss the excitement in the Texas Panhandle with the SDPC Racshop Wild West Classic on May 29 and 30.

Unlike most racetracks, where cars go around in circles until the checkered flag flies, drag racing is about racers competing head-to-head in a short straight line down a 1/8-mile strip.
