It’s been over a year in the making, but a new bar and grill will open in Amarillo. After Logan’s Roadhouse closed in 2023, the building at 8310 I-40 W sat empty for a couple of years. Finally, we heard the building was purchased, and the rumors spread. First, something about a pizza place, then a steakhouse, and we finally learned it was Boondocks Bar and Grill.
When Does Boondocks Open?
A few weeks ago, Boondocks began the hiring process so they could get the restaurant staffed, trained, and ready to serve the residents of Amarillo and I-40 travelers. According to a new TikTok video, Boondocks Bar and Grill will open on Monday, June 15. Take a quick tour of the restaurant.
Boondocks Is Still Hiring
The restaurant’s Facebook page finally went live, but the website is still password-protected. The first post on the page was June 8, letting everyone know they were hiring. They are looking for front and back of house staff. You can stop by Boondocks at 8310 I-40 W any day from 9 am – 5 pm to fill out an application.
What’s on the Menu at Boondocks?
As of this time, they haven’t shared a menu or what they will be serving up, but since it is a bar and grill, the menu will likely include burgers, steaks, lots of appetizers, and chicken. We’ll just have to wait a little while to see.
Why Boondocks Could Be a Big Deal for Amarillo
This will be a great addition to Amarillo and I-40, and it is one of the few restaurants in that area that is locally owned. We love supporting our local business owners.
