AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Transportation’s Amarillo District released its “Know Before You Go” report on lane closures for this week.
According to TxDOT, road closures and detours expected throughout this week include:
Monday,
- Drivers can expect the intersection of Western Street and Wolflin Avenue to be a four-way stop as crews perform traffic signal work. The work is expected to be completed by the end of the week.
Tuesday,
- Drivers can expect the left two lanes of the northbound US 87 bridge at 15th Avenue, going into downtown Amarillo, to be closed for bridge maintenance operations.
- Drivers can expect the eastbound I-40 exit ramp to Georgia Street to be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the City of Amarillo’s street paving project.
Wednesday,
- Drivers can expect the right lane of eastbound I-40 at Helium Road to be closed for area bridge patching operations. The eastbound I-40 entrance ramp from Helium Road will also be temporarily closed during this time.
Friday,
- Drivers can expect southbound US 87 at the I-27 split, just north of Canyon, to be closed for concrete barrier placement. Southbound traffic can access US 87 by exiting at Rockwell Road and using the frontage road to Country Club Road. Drivers can also use southbound I-27 to reach Canyon during this time.
