Structural damage from fuel tanker crash closes part of ABC 7 building

AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Part of the ABC 7 building remains off-limits after a fuel tanker crashed into the station, causing significant structural damage.

The impact damaged the northwest corner of the building and knocked out a steel support beam. Structural engineers have since shored up that section of the building to stabilize it.

The station’s sales offices are in the damaged area and remain off-limits, but because employees who work there are only in the building during the day, no one was injured in the overnight crash…
