TxDOT Amarillo ‘Know Before You Go’ report for the week of Sept. 21

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Transportation’s Amarillo District released its “Know Before You Go” report on this week’s lane closures, including closures on State Loop SL 335, I-27, and I-40.

According to TxDOT, road closures and detours expected throughout this week include:

Monday, Sept. 21

  • Various lane closures on westbound State Loop (SL) 335 at River Road for patching operations. The work is expected to be completed by   Wednesday, Sept. 23.

Tuesday, Sept. 22

  • The left and center lanes of westbound I-40 at Nelson Street will be closed for patching operations.
  • The southbound US 87 exit to Canyon will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day as crews remove an existing sign bridge. Traffic needing to go to Canyon can exit at Rockwell Road and follow the frontage road to the US 87 entrance ramp from Country Club Road.

Wednesday, Sept. 23

  • Various lane closures on westbound SL 335 at US 87 for patching operations. The work is expected to be completed by Friday, Sept. 25

Thursday, Sept. 24

  • The right lane of westbound I-40 at Nelson Street will be closed for patching operations.

Throughout the Week

  • Various lane closures in both directions of I-27 from Western Street to Bell Street for patching operations.
  • The right lane of the westbound I-40 frontage road at Paramount Boulevard will be closed for patching operations.
