Amarillo’s southwest and western portions of the city were the recipient of a tropical type rainstorm on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 23, and received around 1/4 to 1/2 inches of rain in a short burst, according to National Weather Service Meteorologist Steve Hannah.
“From the reports we received, it led to some ponding and urban street flooding,” said Hannah.
