AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Mission Amarillo Shoe Closet is close to giving away its 20,000th pair of shoes.
According to officials, the organization is within 50 shoes of giving away its 20,000th pair of shoes. Officials note that the shoe closet was started in 2010, giving a pair of free athletic-type shoes to the schools in Amarillo, Canyon, River Road, Highland Park, and Bushland to students who need them.

Mission Amarillo Shoe Closet is set to post a picture of the 20,000th shoe given away at the school with their school counselor who ordered them.
