AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Amarillo Police Department said one person has been taken into custody and a homicide investigation is continuing as of Friday, after an unidentified woman was found buried in the 3100 block of Orange Street by officers on Thursday.
According to the department, the APD Homicide Unit received a tip that “a female from Colorado had been shot and buried at an unknown location in Amarillo.” The shooting allegedly happened in a vehicle described by witnesses, and 48-year-old Leonard Torres was identified as a possible suspect.
