AMARILLO, Texas (KCBD) – The Monterey Plainsmen fell to 3-3 on the year, 2-1 in district, losing to the Amarillo High Sandies 24-14 Thursday night at Dick Bivins Stadium.
Amarillo led 14-0 in the third quarter, until Monterey QB Jonah Reed connected with Noah Alexander for a 41-yard score, which cut the Plainsmen’s deficit in half.
In the fourth quarter, Monterey RB Legin Williams ran up the middle to tie the game up 14-14. However, the Sandies were able to pull away with ten answered points in the final minutes of the game…
