New 7 Brew Coming to Hillside and Soncy in Southwest Amarillo

One thing Amarillo can’t seem to get enough of is convenience stores and coffee shops. Residents have to stay gassed up and caffeinated, after all. That’s why, when we find out another one is opening, you’re on one of two sides. You’re either on the “Yay! We needed this!” side or the “Just what we need, another coffee shop” side.

Why Does Amarillo Need Another 7 Brew?

This particular coffee shop? We need at least four more in Amarillo, or at least two on every side of town, and that coffee shop is 7 Brew.

Where Is the New 7 Brew Going?

According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, another 7 Brew will be opening at Hillside and Soncy near the Toot’n Totum. The listed address is 5962 Soncy Rd.

At one point, that area had three coffee shops, but PJ’s Coffee closed, and the space is now Village Bakery and Deli. Ziggi’s Coffee closed all its locations in the area. The only coffee shop in that area now is Starbucks. Dutch Bros is a few miles down Soncy.

Amarillo has only one 7 Brew, located at 2110 S. Western St., and it is always packed. Sometimes the line ends up out in the street. Not to mention, on Nee-Doh Day, the traffic wrapped all the way to the light at I-40 and beyond. Canyon and Dumas both have a 7 Brew.

When Will the New 7 Brew Open?

Here’s what we know about the new 7 Brew. Construction is scheduled to start in April 2027, with a completion date of September 2027. The 7 Brew buildings are usually prefabricated, shipped in, and put together on site. This building is 510 sq. ft. The project is estimated to cost $1.5 million.

Has the Franchise Responded Yet?

We did reach out to the company franchising this particular 7 Brew, but at the time of publishing, we had yet to receive any response. If they do respond, we will update the article…
