*Correction: Story has been edited to clarify that there was only one data breach and those impacted by the Nov. 2023 cybersecurity incident are being updated and notified.

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Ardent Health Services recently reported that certain individuals whose personal information was involved in the November 2023 “cybersecurity incident” are now being notified.

MyHighPlains.com previously reported that on Nov. 23, 2023, Ardent discovered a “ransomware incident” that impacted its network and they immediately notified law enforcement. Ardent, added officials, launched an investigation into the incident and received assistance from an outside security firm and “successfully terminated the unauthorized access.”

Recently, according to officials, Ardent’s forensics investigation found that an “unauthorized third party” extracted documents with personal information. Officials noted that “Ardent has no indication that this information has been misused.”

Ardent added that the data review process is ongoing and individuals that were possibly impacted will receive letters in the mail “in accordance with all applicable law,” for the November data incident.
