From quiet weather to a rain and snow mix

We had a slightly warmer day for the High Plains. Temperatures were nice and cool in the 50s. As we head back into the evening, dense fog will return. With a handful of temperatures becoming close to freezing, slick spots might form on the roads. Low visibility will lead to hazardous road conditions. Make sure to drive cautiously this evening and Friday morning. Morning temperatures on Friday will linger in the 30s across the area. We are tracking an upper-level system that will bring us a rain and snow mix. According to the latest models, the main precipitation type will be rain. Snow showers will be possible around the northwestern counties. Light accumulation will come from Friday’s event, less than half an inch of combined precipitation. Breezy winds are a possibility behind the front between 15-20 mph. We will have a warming trend for this weekend and upcoming workweek. Temperatures will linger in the 60s next week. Have a great and safe rest of your Thursday!
