Northwest Texas Healthcare System to layoff a limited number of employees

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — In a statement from officials with Northwest Texas Healthcare System, NWTHS will be laying off a number of employees as a result of a “restructuring” of functional areas and departments.

“We are restructuring certain functional areas and departments within Northwest Texas Healthcare System (NWTHS) to increase operational efficiencies and reduce costs during this challenging time in the Healthcare industry,” said Jason Barrett, CEO of NWTHS in a statement made Monday.

According to Barrett in the statement, most of the positions are not directly involved with patient care delivery.

“All impacted employees have been valued members of our team, and we are treating them with dignity and respect during this difficult time,” said Barrett.

In the statement, Barrett noted the company will be offering help to impacted employees including “transitioning some of them to other currently open positions or providing eligible employees with a separation package.”
