‘Round Up’ support: Toot’n Totum raises more than $140K for Salvation Army

Toot’n Totum fundraising efforts for the Salvation Army of Amarillo more than doubled what they brought in last year, bringing in nearly $100,000 in Amarillo alone.

The company announced a record-breaking fundraising result for the Salvation Army of Amarillo’s Red Kettle Challenge, raising over $97,000 in Amarillo and over $140,000 company wide, during a check presentation Monday afternoon.

Last year as a part of the challenge, area Toot’n Totum’s raised over $42,000 for the Amarillo area Salvation Army, this year with their Change for the Better Campaign benefitting the Red Kettle Campaign the organization raised a total of $97,398.60 for Amarillo.

“We really didn’t expect this large of a donation – we expected something close to last year, that was sort of our goal,” said Major Tex Ellis, with the Salvation Army of Amarillo. “But with it being a different type of campaign this year with the ‘Round Up,’ we really didn’t know what to expect. We were just hopeful the community would respond in the way that they have in the past. We never expected this and we are so thankful to everybody that gave at any Toot’n Totum location, and to everyone who helped to make this happen.”
