McDonald’s Gives Back Day to benefit Amarillo Angels

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — McDonald’s Gives Back Day started in 2020 and benefits nonprofits in the High Plains. On Tuesday, Jan. 30, the McDonald’s locations in Amarillo, Canyon, Dumas, Dalhart, and Borger will participate in McDonald’s Gives Back Day.

According to Stephanie Khayat, McDonald’s marketing coordinator, a portion of sales from the participating locations will benefit Amarillo Angels’ mission to support children, youth, and families experiencing foster care.

“We all saw what they do in our community and how much they help families and foster kids,” Khayat said. “We were really touched. We have a big heart for families, but especially for kids. Especially our owner as well. So we didn’t hesitate, not even for a second, and this is how we chose them. I’m pretty sure they are going to do great on that day.”

According to Gwen Hicks, Amarillo Angels executive director, the nonprofit changes the way children, youth, and families experience foster care by offering consistent support through intentional giving, relationship building, and mentorship.
