Former City of Canyon Commissioner J. Pat Stephens has died according to Canyon officials

CANYON, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Officials with the City of Canyon announced that former Commissioner J. Pat Stephens has died on Friday.

City of Canyon officials said, Stephens served as the city’s Commissioner for 25 years from 1973 to 1997 and again from 2002 to 2003.

According to the City of Canyon In an article published in 2002, Stephens explains why he served as a Commissioner, saying:

“The heart of the job as a city commissioner is to listen, to learn and to do those things which are doable.”
