AMARILLO, TX — The Amarillo community is shaken by a heartbreaking incident that unfolded on Saturday, resulting in the tragic death of 27-year-old Cecilia Rodriguez. A mother to a 3-year-old son and a newborn girl, Cecilia was discovered lifeless at her residence in the 4000 block of S. Ong, succumbing to an apparent gunshot wound. In 2022, the Texas Council on Domestic Violence reviewed over 300 homicide cases and found 216 Texans killed in an intimate partner or stalking homicide.
