Amarillo gas prices jump 9.1 cents, average $2.55/gallon at start of February

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – According to the most recent report from GasBuddy, gas prices in the Amarillo area jumped up by 9.1 cents per gallon in the last week to reach an average of $2.55/gallon on Monday. Those prices were noted as 12.8 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and 48.1 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

GasBuddy reported that the cheapest station in Amarillo was priced at $2.33/gallon on Sunday while the most expensive was $3.49/gallon, a difference of $1.16. The lowest price in Texas on Sunday was noted as $1.83/gallon while the most expensive was recorded at $3.99/gallon, a difference of $2.16.

Nationally, the average price of gas rose 4.3 cents per gallon in the last week to reach an average of $3.12/gallon on Monday. That national average was reported as up 4 cents per gallon from a month ago and 32.5 cents lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel rose 3 cents in the last week, meanwhile, to stand at $3.92/gallon.
