PORTALES, N.M. (KAMR/KCIT) — Eastern New Mexico University released enrollment data on Friday showing continued enrollment growth on the main campus with spring enrollment up by 5.4% compared to the previous year.
According to officials with ENMU, numbers have increased in all categories compared to spring 2023 including:
- Undergraduate enrollment numbers are at 3,759 students, a 5.8% increase from spring 2023;
- Student credit hours at the undergraduate level increased by 5.8%;
- The transfer student population increased by 7.7% from the spring of 2023 to the spring of 2024;
- Graduate student enrollment is up by 4.2% with 1,350 graduate students currently enrolled;
- Graduate student credit hours also increased by 9.6%
“Our growth is the work of a great ENMU staff, and I truly appreciate their efforts,” said James Johnston, president of ENMU. “It is also a testament to the outstanding education ENMU is known for and continues to deliver.”
Officials noted that ENMU has continued to see an increase in students attending in-person classes on the main campus with resident halls and apartments running close to capacity this spring. According to officials from ENMU, this spring’s enrollment growth marks the third consecutive spring of overall enrollment growth for the university.
