Amarillo College Theatre program presenting ‘The Little Foxes’ starting Feb. 22

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo College Theatre Arts Program will present “The Little Foxes” four times starting Feb. 22 through Feb. 25 at the Experimental Theatre located at the Washington Street Campus.

According to officials with AC, Lillian Hellman’s acclaimed play which debuted in 1939 on Broadway is about the ruthless schemes of a dysfunctional family emboldened by greed. Officials noted that the 10-person cast play will be directed by Ray Newburg, program coordinator and assistant professor for the AC Theatre Arts Program.

“Good pieces of literature stand the test of time; they don’t show their age,” Newburg said. “This play contains certain universal aspects of human behavior, of family dysfunction and greed, that are very recognizable today.”

Officials stated that “The Little Foxes” has been produced five times on Broadway and has featured Tallulah Bankhead, Anne Bancroft and Elizabeth Taylor in the leading role of Regina Hubbard Giddens as well as a film adaptation starring Bette Davis who received nine Oscar nominations.
