AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Officials with the City of Amarillo announced that the Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport’s (RHAIA) new digital safety inspection program has helped its overall safety.
According to a COA press release, the digital safety program, “has helped modernize and improve overall safety procedures at RHAIA.” Officials said the program was implemented in August 2022 after years of research and preparation.
COA detailed that the program uses a geographic information system from Esri.
“The GIS technology from Esri has digitally streamlined the inspection and operational process at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport,” said RHAIA Assistant Director Thomas Oscarsson. “The improvements this system provides have been multifaceted and beneficial for the overall operation of the airport.”
