AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Happy Sunday! As of 1PM, snow is continuing to fall across some of the area, which is leading to some slippery and potentially dangerous driving conditions, more so for our southern counties. Cities in the OK Panhandle and the far northern TX Panhandle are now done with the snow. As for Amarillo and other areas in the central panhandle, light snow showers might continue for the next hour or so, before tapering off. 3.6″ has been reported at the NWS office in Amarillo at the time of writing. For the southern and southeast cities, they can expect heavier snow to continue for several hours through the rest of this afternoon and possibly into the evening as well, which will likely lead to significant accumulations. Plan on some refreezing possible overnight as well, which will lead to some patches of ice early tomorrow morning.
