AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – According to officials with the Amarillo Police Department, emergency responders were called to Thompson Memorial Park at around 12:50 p.m. on Monday after a call reporting a car submerged in the lake.
Amarillo police noted that officials believe the car may have been stolen and dumped in the lake, after Amarillo Fire Department officials confirmed that no people were found within the car. Police said that officials would work on Monday to extract the car from the lake and return it to its owner.
