AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Today the City of Amarillo announced the restructuring of four Department Directors to the positions of Managing Director. Amarillo Police Department’s Chief of Police Martin Birkenfeld will now serve as Managing Director of Public Safety and oversee the Police Department, Fire Department, Office of Emergency Management and Amarillo Emergency Communications Center.
