AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Potter County Sheriff’s Office recently announced that leaders with both River Road and Bushland school districts are now equipped with a PCSO provided WAVE radio on their cell phone, giving district officials direct contact with the sheriff’s office.
PCSO officials detailed that every superintendent, assistant superintendent, principal, assistant principal, and administrative assistant from each campus in those districts now have a radio on their cell phone.
Upon activation, district officials will have access to speak directly to a dispatch or deputy at PCSO, allowing them to provide up-to-date information or immediate contact, pending a situation that requires PCSO assistance.
“This is another way we can help keep our schools safe and get real-time information from them as we respond,” a press release from PCSO read.
PCSO is working with the Highland Park ISD Administrators and the Highland Park Police to provide the same access to those district leaders, according to officials.
