Local leaders and volunteers will host the annual Amarillo Day of Prayer, an observance where we come together to pray for our city and regional communities. Amarillo citizens will gather on Thursday, Feb. 29 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Civic Center Grand Plaza. The evening will be similar to past National Day of Prayer celebrations; however, this year, the gathering will be personal and focused on our own community. The event will begin with a time of worship from Hillside Christian Church and the program will center on four aspects of prayer Adoration, Confessions, Thanksgiving and Supplication. These significant areas will be scripture based and prayed for by leaders representing different areas of our city. Each segment of prayer will also allow time for attendees to gather in groups and pray for these key areas. Pray the City is a 501 (c)3 organization consisting of Christ followers from many denominations that meets monthly to pray scripturally over issues in Amarillo.
