Amarillo Police reports DWI-related incidents have reached ‘unacceptable level’

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo Police Department asked the public for its assistance after the number of DWI-related arrests and accidents have reached an “unacceptable level.”

According to APD, 49 DWI-related incidents were recorded in the previous month with 20 of those involving traffic accidents.

“It’s 2024, and the dangers of intoxicated driving are well-known to everyone, said APD. Yet, it continues to occur at an alarming frequency. There is simply no excuse for it.”
