Amarillo man sentenced to 5 years in prison for 2021 manslaughter

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — An Amarillo man was sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of manslaughter in a 2021 shooting that happened in west Amarillo.

As was previously reported by MyHighPlains.com, Dylan Mims, was arrested after a shooting at an apartment complex on Bell Street in September 2021. Landarius Johnson died from injuries sustained in the shooting.

The Amarillo Police Department reported that detectives spoke to witnesses who had been inside the apartment at the time of the shooting and identified Mims.

Mims was sentenced to five years in prison and was fined $500.
