Local food truck stolen then found near border

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — On Friday, at approximately 4:57 a.m., a local food truck named Tio Bros that was stolen from the Texas Panhandle War Memorial was reportedly found near the Mexican border.

According to officials with the Amarillo Police Department, the food truck, which was valued at approximately $70,000, was stolen after a person hooked it up to their truck and drove off.

According to Facebook posts made by the owner of the truck , the food truck was last seen on surveillance cameras in the parking lot of the Texas Panhandle War Memorial getting allegedly stolen by someone in a candy red pick-up, cutting the trailer lock and heading south down Georgia Street. The owner confirmed with MyHighPlains.com on Oct. 14 that the food truck had reportedly been found after being located close to the border of Mexico and completely stripped down.

“We are now focused on rebuilding everything we have built,” said the owner of Tio Bros.
