Assistant City Manager’s Retirement Plans Prompting Organizational Restructure

Amarillo City Council is eyeing a restructuring of the city government as Assistant City Manager Floyd Hartman has laid out a timeline for his retirement. Hartman has long been a key figure at Amarillo City Hall. Currently, he oversees Community Development, Utilities, Capital Projects & Development, and the City Airport. Hartman also served as Acting City Manager before Grayson Path was hired. Hartman had been promoted to the role after Deputy City Manager Andrew Freeman stepped down in the wake of Freeman’s attempt at reshuffling the city’s leadership.
