AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety reports that it is investigating a fatal wreck that happened Wednesday afternoon south of Amarillo.
According to a preliminary investigation by DPS, a pickup truck was on the I-27 northbound service road and Sundown lane when it left the roadway and hit a concrete pillar and caught fire.

The driver was reported to have died at the scene of the wreck. DPS said no other vehicles or people were involved with the the wreck.
