Something you hear often in Amarillo is people asking why we don’t see more concerts in town. It’s been a hot-button issue for years, and the reasons why we don’t see big-name acts come through anymore have been talked about constantly. Looking at the upcoming events happening at the Civic Center, it seems like we’re trading comedy for rock and roll.
Is Amarillo Becoming A City To See Comedy In?
This month we saw Jo Koy and Steve Trevino make stops at the Amarillo Civic Center. In March we get the legendary Theo Von, and Chris D’elia will also be coming to Amarillo. What Music Acts Is Amarillo Seeing This Year?
So far on the calendar we’ve got Andy Grammar, Bonnie Raitt, and Liverpool Legends Beatles Experience coming in March. Christian artist Jeremy Camp is in Amarillo in May, as well as Dwight Yoakam with the Mavericks.
It’s still early. What will be interesting to see is who else, if anyone, gets added to the calendar as the year goes on. For all we know there could be shows booked that aren’t allowed to be announced yet.
