AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – Officials with Potter County announced that its “Community Connections: A Town Hall Experience” event will take place on Saturday with the aim of bringing local leaders and public services directly in contact with community members.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday at the Amarillo Tri-State Fairgrounds Commercial Exhibit Hall, according to organizers. Attendees will be able to engage with area officials and services, ask questions and learn about available community resources.
Discovery Center Collective encourages community to discover for one dollar
Organizers further noted the town hall event will go beyond traditional discussions by featuring both informative speakers and interactive opportunities to connect with local government and community services. The event is meant to be a “one-stop shop” for residents to learn about the county, discover resources and make their voices heard.
Speakers expected to appear at the town hall include:
- Blair Schaffer, Potter County Commissioner, Precinct 2;
- Georgia Estrada, Potter County Constable, Precinct 2;
- Robert Taylor, Potter County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2; and
- Les Simpson, Amarillo City Councilman, Place 4.
Interactive exhibits and activities at the event are also set to include a Potter County Sheriff’s Office SWAT vehicle, the Amarillo Fire Department’s Kids Safety House, free Kid ID cards from the Amarillo Crime Stoppers and displays from both Potter County Road & Bridge and the Potter County Fire Department…
